In the 8th grade, I joined my first Agri class simply because my other friends were doing it and because that meant we'd all get to have a blow off class together. Little did I know after four years of taking Agri classes that it would become one of my absolute favorite organizations, groups of people, and opportunities in all of high school.
My agricultural experiences have been the most challenging and life-shaping opportunities of my teenage years. As I learned the importance of agricultural in every part of our world and grew to love it, I found my niche.
As Miss Spirit of Arkansas's Outstanding Teen 2019 and as a Clinton FFA chapter officer, I've made a commitment to do all I can to ensure food security and food sustainability with an idea to Feed the Future through Agriculture Education. I want Arkansans everywhere to know that farming is about so much more than just cows, sows, and plows; today's
agriculture is about scientific beakers, public speakers, and job seekers in Arkansas.
I look forward to spending my year of service sharing my Feed the Future message with students, civic organizations, businesses, farmers, and people everywhere. Not only do I want students to know that you don't have to live on a farm to be involved in Agriculture, but I specifically want young girls to know that you can be as glitz, glam, and girly as you want and sit at the table with farmers too.
